This 1940s image shows this marvelous 1937 theater's location, on Robinson, North of Grand (Sheridan) and North of the elegant Baum Building, lower right.

The American National Bank is immediately to its North, followed by the short Oil & Gas Building (red) and, further away, the 1st National Bank.

At the left, the Colcord is in the foregroud and the Hales is in the background.

I've found that images of the State Theater are nearly impossible to find, and that images of the Harber are virtually nonexistant.

But, a 1953 image in The Vanished Spendor III * shows them both. I've cropped it here, just to show the State.

The State's marquee reads, "The Moon Is Blue ... Uncut and Uncensored". In 1953, the movie, starring William Holden, David Niven, Maggie McNamara, Tom Tully & Dawn Addams, was considered to be risque. That was then, and this is now!
