Delmar Garden. Delmar Garden was the city's first major amusement park, opened south of Reno and west of Western in 1902. Bothered by floods and mosquitoes from the nearby North Canadian River, its death knell was the passing of prohibition by the 1st Oklahoma Legislature and it closed in 1910. Some say that the area occupied 140 acres, but that is impossible. Probably, those who say that are including nearby Wheeler Park as part of that definition.
